Dice Digital Media

What we build

Five things, done properly.

Everything below is work we do ourselves, by hand. There is no reseller in the middle and no template farm behind it.

01

A small website that does the job

Usually three pages: who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. Written as plain HTML and CSS, which means there is no software on your server that can go out of date.

  • Home, services and contact pages, written around your real questions
  • A contact form that reaches you, tested before launch
  • Looks right on a phone first, because that is where your customers are
  • Dark mode handled, so the page does not glare at 11pm
  • Keyboard and screen-reader accessible: labelled fields, ordered headings, a skip link
  • No cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to

02

Replacing a WordPress site safely

Most small-business sites we are handed are WordPress running a bought theme and a stack of plugins, several of which have known vulnerabilities that were never patched. We replace the site and shut the old code down.

  • Your real writing is salvaged from the old site first — it is usually buried in a theme demo
  • Old addresses are redirected, so links people already have keep working
  • PHP is switched off across the whole site, which stops the old plugin code running at all
  • Every file we overwrite is backed up first, so any change can be undone
  • We tell you exactly which leftover files to delete, and why blocked is not the same as gone

03

Being findable, by search and by assistants

People do not only type into a search box any more — they ask an assistant and read one answer. Both need to be able to extract facts from your page rather than guess at them.

  • Structured data on every page describing the business, the pages and the services
  • An llms.txt that states your facts plainly — and lists what models should not invent about you
  • A sitemap and a robots.txt that let the answer engines in on purpose
  • Your name, service area and hours written the same way everywhere they appear
  • Page titles and descriptions written for a human reading a result, not stuffed with keywords

04

Hosting and domain, in your name

We set the accounts up so they belong to you. If our relationship ends, nothing about your website stops working and nothing is held.

  • Domain registration or transfer, registered to your business
  • Hosting configured, with HTTPS on before launch
  • Email routing checked — we confirm the address on your site actually receives mail before we print it
  • The cutover is done so the new site is reachable and checked before your address points at it
  • Everything documented in writing, including the logins

05

Changes after it is live

Hours change, you add a service, a phone number moves. Send it and we edit the page. There is no dashboard for you to learn and no plugin to keep updated.

  • Text, hours, service and contact changes
  • New pages when the business actually needs one
  • Photos optimised properly, so adding one does not slow the site down
  • A check run against the live site after every change

Two honest notes

What this costs, and what we do not do.

There is no price list on this page

A three-page site for a barbershop and a rescue of a twelve-year-old WordPress install are not the same job, and quoting either one before we have looked would be a guess. We look at what you have, then quote a fixed number before any work starts. Hosting and domain fees are paid by you, directly, at cost.

We are not the right people for everything

We do not build online stores with carts and checkouts, customer logins, booking systems, or anything that needs a content management system you log into. If that is what your business needs, say so early and we will tell you straight rather than sell you something that does not fit.

Not sure which of these you need?

Most people are not. Describe the business and what is frustrating you about the website you have, and we will tell you which of the five above actually applies.
